@ChrisInKW Re questn re unemplyd,answer I got: When person reports they have taken themselves off the job market
Reply RT Translate 1 mon
@ChrisInKW Re unreportd unemplyd, coincidentally I just this morning asked your exact question to the Exec D of the Workforce Planning Board
@ChrisInKW Re prison cost mailing, probably not, based on 1 enquiry, but I'll think about it
@ChrisInKW Re unreported unemployed, is this like unreported crime?
@pfthurley Re unemplymt,until you &I are King,&can give jobs to every man,woman&child,lesser mortals will just have to do their best
@ChrisInKW re MP duties,responding comes first
@pfthurley Re unemployment,while even 1 under-employed person is a tragedy, 10 would be a far worse tragedy.7.3%is better than10%
@neilpwilkinson Re census,some seem to think that mandatory census has been altogether done away with.
@ChrisInKW Re prison costs,also, you seemed to overlook what I said:C428 is pressing to my constituents judging by #of enquiries
@ChrisInKW Re cost of prisons,you might not believe me,but you are the first person who's asked me about this

@ChrisInKW Re C428,we had help
Rest assured the census is still mandatory, even if not every question is.
No one is marching in the streets calling for prosecuting people who can't or won't complete the long form survey
@pfthurley Anyone under-employed is a tragedy.Govt does not and shld not control everything.But we have made it better than it wld have been
@ChrisInKW Thanks.I actually love hearing views and dialoguing with people who might disagree.It's how we approach the truth best
@ChrisInKW Re C428,sorry I have no real idea what other MPs have identified altho one might expect they've got the same reactn frm people
@Corntea_knits I simply meant that it doesn't help people to threaten them with prosecution,esp those who have fled oppressive govts
@ChrisInKW In fact, I hope I am known as an MP who honestly engages people rather than safely hiding in blandness
@ChrisInKW I simply mean that an MP who identifies an issue of interest shld not be criticized for expressing an opinion abou it
@ICQ Re my ICQ call,I was comparing twitter to the old ham radio &thought I'd use what I believe was an old ham radio call
@KingandOttawa Actually this mailing responds to the issue about which I have had the largest number of enquiries since my election
@RamaraMan Re apptmts of PS, I don't really know for sure, but I would expect Minister recommends but PMO must appoint
@RamaraMan I just realized I misread year tweet.Sorry.But I agree wholeheartedly with you about BStanton.Very good guy
@RamaraMan Re INAC PS Ihaven't yet heard.Re John Duncan,you're right- a decent guy
@Ken_Donnelly Pleased to share a kindred spirit over the ether.I was young and it was the late fifties.I think my father built his own
@Uranowski you've made me feel better.An interesting point about twitterer age.Thanks

@WoodworthMP's govt destroys data when it can (census) and hides it when it cant (rcmp registry report). #givingpoliticiansabadname. Shame.

@WoodworthMP So excited for you to stand up for your constituents & demand a #g20 inquiry. Also, side w/ Canadian police & support gun reg!

@WoodworthMP Will Canada be safer without gun registry? Keeping it will give you more people to fill corporate prisons with!

@WoodworthMP, I'm still waiting for your nation hating government to announce an inquiry into how you weakened Canada at #g20! #cpc #cdnpoli

@WoodworthMP No one wants to prosecute people. Just wonder the usefulness of collecting data that is not accurate.

@WoodworthMP thought LF had been saved. u refer to short form though. irony of policy. ok to imprison for SF but not LF #census?
@WoodworthMP Do you know to whom a person reports that they're off the job market or have given up looking?
@WoodworthMP As you mya know, the US has stats ranging from U-1 through U-6. Does Canada have any way to measure these important stats?
@WoodworthMP Interesting. Do we count discouraged workers like in the US? People who've given up and/or are no longer collecting benefits?
@WoodworthMP Good question to ask, esp. in times of protracted difficulty when many fall off the books in being counted as unemployed. Kudos
@WoodworthMP Why not base your decision on $9.5 billion instead?
@WoodworthMP Far more serious, I'm afraid. At what point does someone stop being counted in unemployment statistics yet remain unemployed?
@WoodworthMP Understood. Now that you've responded to C428, I look forward to the data collection card about prison spending decisions.
Canadian
@WoodworthMP responding to the partisan mail you send out comes before you send out relevent info on gov't spending? #confused #cdnpoli
@WoodworthMP would you agree your duty as MP extends beyond responding to inquiries and providing relevant info, esp. about Ottawa spending?
@WoodworthMP Surely you'd get many inquiries if you sent out a card about prison spending. Recall a 10pcter-style ad about C428 months ago.
@WoodworthMP all the more reason to keep your constituents on top of the decisions contemplated by the government, esp. big ticket items
@WoodworthMP saddened to learn C428 more pressing to the #cpc than $9.5 billion worth of prisons. Any plans for a card about that? #cdnpoli
@WoodworthMP how will it be determined that the census results are representative of Canada?

@WoodworthMP I voted for @stanton_brucemp in 2006 believing I was electing a different S Harper. Boy were CDNs conned by PMSH! #cdnpoli
@WoodworthMP Pls show me where #census reform was listed in the #CPCs #elxn40 2008 platform? This was a manufactured crisis! #cdnpoli
@WoodworthMP The #CPC #census fiasco will hurt you in #elxn41. Id luv 2C the big fat grin this must be putting on Ms Redman's face! #cdnpoli
@WoodworthMP you're right, something better than nothing. 3 part-time jobs making up for 1 full-time w/ pension is be—wait a sec! @pfthurley
@WoodworthMP Did your office produce the C428 data collection card on its own or did it come from higher up?
@WoodworthMP this is why I was saddened you couldn't make it to the #noprorogue demonstration in Dec/09 like you did the anti-coalition demo
@WoodworthMP you're hardly bland, I compliment you for that :) Not an easy job.
@WoodworthMP I'd accept that if you personally identified it. How many other MPs 'identified' the issue and sent data collection cards?
